Research

As a small organization with limited resources, we focus on high-impact projects that tackle pressing environmental challenges and deliver actionable, locally relevant solutions to our communities and environments.

Our Approach

To achieve our mission, all of our research is designed with this three-pillar approach: Collaboration, Innovation and Accessibility

Collaboration

CCS brings together scientists, students, Indigenous knowledge holders, and community members, fostering collaboration to amplify impact. By combining diverse expertise, we address complex environmental challenges that no single organization can solve alone.

Innovation

We believe the dynamic ecosystems of the West Coast require bold, creative approaches to research. By harnessing cutting-edge technology, incorporating traditional ecological knowledge, and embracing innovative ideas, we pursue projects that challenge conventional methods and redefine what’s possible in environmental science.

Accessibility

Science drives meaningful change only when it’s accessible. We believe that removing barriers to research—through education, collaboration, and open dialogue—helps people connect with environmental stewardship and engage in meaningful ways.
